Product Description

It all comes together with a Castle Lager.

Castle Lager is South Africa’s oldest beer brand – the iconic, somewhat dry, somewhat bitter, never sweet beer. It is a must-have for a braai and pairs perfectly with freshly braaied boerewors.

Back in 1907, Charles Glass entered his first competition with his beer, which went on to win gold. Glass’ beginnings goes a bit farther back, however. Born in Kent, Charles travelled to South Africa and started producing his own lagers in 1884. It quickly gained popularity among the miners in Johannesburg at the time. Following the increase in popularity, Charles decides to open his brewery and named it Castle Brewery.
