“When Ormonde, creators of Ondine Chenin blanc, ambitiously undertook to build a new cellar in 2006, it was with the utmost commitment to producing well-crafted wines of superlative quality.
The Cellar compares favourably with the world’s best, being ultra modern with advanced international cellar technology and state of the art equipment it is still combined with traditional techniques like open fermentation – cold soak – and barrel fermentation, these techniques ensure that our quality commitment is guaranteed.” To read more about the Ormonde Vineyards, click here.
“Think dry Vouvray but with more guava and white peach. The Chenin Blanc grape, originally from Anjou in France’s Loire Valley, found its way to South Africa in the 17th century where it was known as ‘Steen’. In this warmer climate it develops a more exotic character.”
