Diemersfontein has belonged to the Sonnenberg family for 3 generations, dating back to the early 1940s. David’s grandfather, Max, bought the 183 hectare farm, which lies in the shadow of the majestic Hawekwa Mountains and boasts a panoramic view of both Du Toit’s Kloof and Bains’ Kloof mountain ranges.
“Displaying a pale lemon colour in the glass, the Diemersfontein Chenin Blanc presents itself as an elegantly dry, unwooded white wine. A tantalising bouquet of passion fruit and pineapple aromas set the tone for the rich, ripe fruit flavours that follow on the palate. A generous body shows a delicious mouth-filling quality that is complemented by a delicate ribbon of natural acidity that brings balance to the wine. A pleasing finish leaves a satisfying aftertaste that lingers on the tip of the tongue.
