“The Fairview Goats Do Roam is bright ruby in the glass. Fresh berry aromas layered with subtle spice and smoky notes. Light to medium bodied with young juicy berry flavours, fine integrated oak and smooth tannins. A beautifully balanced wine with a soft finish.
Forever roaming for the best quality grapes and soils, our winemakers have returned home to create this brilliant, highly drinkable specimen. Dark red cherries, plums, and cinnamon spice fill the nose, while the silky juicy tannins leave a delightful, lingering aftertaste. A wine that goes with any occasion!”
Funnily enough, this Fairview Goats Do Roam is best paired with Goat’s cheese. Also a perfect pair with a braai, vension meats, beef and biltong.
The land, enriched with history has existed for as long as man can tell. However, it was in 1699 that the first official tax record reflected wine on its inventory list. Known as Bloemkoolfontein, or Cauliflower Fountain, the name was later (and as the owner says, thankfully) changed. Now owned by Charles Back, it was his grandfather who purchased the property from the Hugo family in 1937.
