The Marula fruit cannot be cultivated, which makes every Amarula product that much more special. Once the Marula fruit has ripened from naturally grown trees in lush Limpopo, each fruit is gathered by hand, before being de-stoned and crushed. Given that the elephants don’t get to them first! The pulp goes through a process of fermentation to produce a ‘wine’ of sorts. It is then barreled and left for two years. Once ready, the cream gets added in; giving Amarula its beautiful velvety consistency.
