“The creators of Rietvallei sauvignon blanc, Rietvallei Estate counts among South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates and was one of the first wine farms established in the picturesque Robertson Wine Valley some 160km north east of Cape Town. Rietvallei lies in the Klaas Voogds ward, a region with unique soil structures and climatic influences ideal for wine grape cultivation, situated some eight kilometers east of Robertson town on the way to the Little Karoo.
The nose reveals vibrant fruit with expressive passion fruit and grapefruit, freshly cut grass and a touch of capsicum. These flavours follow through on the pallet with flinty and mineral notes and allusions of ripe green figs. The acidity is well balanced and allows for a zesty, crisp and decidedly dry finish.
Enjoy this wine with grilled fish or cream based poultry dishes, even barbecued rack of lamb.”
