These Mexican Sausages are made from a blend of coarse pork and aromatic herbs & spices. What’s more, they’re infused with robust flavours.

After expanding on our farm-style South African Boerewors, we turned our sites on conquering the continent. Born out of that, was a range of speciality sausages inspired by European favourites and African flavours. Our new product line happened to include our pack of 4 spicy Mexican Sausages. So get cooking!

With a blend of 70% pork and an addition of maize and wonderful notes of cumin and oregano, this sausage is great with paella or in a burrito. Alternatively, this Sausage and Bean recipe is a wintertime winner.

You’ll need:

2 tbsp olive oil
1 finely chopped onion
2 medium sticks of celery finely chopped
1 chopped yellow pepper
1 chopped red pepper
3 fat garlic cloves chopped
6 mexican sausages – that’s 2 packs (with some to spare)
6 pork sausage
1½ tsp sweet smoked paprika
½ tsp ground cumin
1 tbsp dried thyme
125ml white wine
2 x 400g tins cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes
2 sprigs fresh thyme
1 chicken stock cube
1 x 400g tin aduki beans, drained and rinsed
