Now, let’s travel back to 1988, where we’ll find Beyers Truter of Kanonkop – a prominent winemaker. With only one goal in mind – to make exceptional wine – he explored the Winelands for a suitable estate. Finding Nooitgedacht in the Stellenbosch area, he thought it the perfect starting block. Given that the farm belonged to Beyers’ for five generations, before it was sold in 1895, Jan Beyers took it as a good omen.
